I have always been a fan of the terminal tackle shirt and hoodie. The new deflector technology helps to keep you feeling cool and protected. The fit is identical to the terminal tackle, but the new look takes it a step further. Anyone looking for protection from the heat and sun should invest in this technology!

This shirt fits as should and is very comfortable. I would reccomend that anyone that is thinking about buying this shirt to buy it and you will not be disappointed

As a fishing guide in South Carolina, I need clothing that is comfortable in hot and humid conditions. These shirts have a sheen to the fabric and I had mixed emotions when I first looked at the material. The first day out in the sun erased any doubts that I had about the fabric. These are by far the coolest shirts that Columbia has offered to date

This is probably one of the best shirts I’ve ever had for keeping me cool and protected from the sun. The material is very strange looking and has a very shiny finish almost like plastic, but it gets the job done.
DanReview –
This shirt provides great sun protection. Unfortunately it looks like a plastic shirt and stands out for that reason. I’d give 5 stars for the same function in a shirt that didn’t look like plastic.

I mow a cemetery on the hottest of days and this shirt brings me relief from the heat. I swear it’s 10 degrees cooler outside with this on. It not only shields from the sun’s rays, it makes the breeze cooler. It changes sweltering to comfortable. Ahhhhh. Buy this shirt!

I live in the very hot and humid south. Have worn this shirt on an all day bike/sightseeing trip and never got hot or sunburned. The fabric is very light and is great venting the heat off. It is shiny but that is what helps keep me cool. Will buy more. My wife has several of these and I have two of the short sleeved version.

Nice fit with nice long sleeves. Could be a first layer or outer layer when the weather warms up.

Just bought one of these reflective shirts for golf in Florida. I hate sunscreen lotions so always wear long sleeves even in 80 degree temps. I thought I’d try one of these high tech shirts. I love it. It really keeps me cool while getting positive remarks Fromm fellow golfers about how good it looks.

Relic hunting in the hot sun this shirt has provided excellent protection from the sun along with providing excellent ventilation.

I have only worn it twice. It seems to breath well and feels cool to wear. The reflective particles look good and should help keeping you cool. It runs large. According to the size chart, I am 5’10”, I ordered a large. It could have doubled as a dress if I was so inclined. I returned it for a medium which fit well. The fabric is very thin, so I don’t know how durable it will be. I do know that you must keep it away from velcro. The shirt touch velcro on my pack and left a few pills in the fabric. One big negative for me is the gaudy “Columbia” going down the entire left arm made out of some type of vinyl material which will interfere with the function of the shirt.

He loves this shirt, it’s lightweight and breathable. He wears it fishing and working around the yard. It’s a barely there shirt that protects him from the hot summer sun.

Been a huge fan of Columbia for years, but when I heard of their Solar Deflector technology, I had to get one on faith alone. I was not disappointed. Lightweight, breathable, and more than able to beat back the strong sun. Definitely getting more!

The shirt is lightweight, comfortable, and works well in 80+ degree weather. However, it has a very shiny, glitter-like shine. My lady said I was easy to see in the Bourbon Street crowd.

I wore in direct sunlight for hours. Usually do not hang in the sun. It cut the intensity dramatically. I bought one for everyday of the week. Now I wear for just everyday comfort. I was shocked at how effective it is. Super light.. it is not heavy by any stretch… It takes the intense bite out of the sun. I don’t impress easy and I take sun exposure very seriously.. I work in the sun. It does run a little large. I wear XL and It was too big. The large fits with some room.

It’s been a week and I’m still not sure. The quality never flags and this Columbia shirt, fits, flows and hangs like the other PFG shirts I own. It’s the color and the texture that’s crossed me up. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of reflectorized dots baked into the fabric and it makes it look shiny. Real shiny, like it’s wet. I understand that this is the way the fabric works and the way it keeps the wearer cool, but it takes some getting used to. And I’m still doing just that.

A great shirt anytime you’re in the Florida sun. I wear it at the beach when I need a break from the sun or on my kayak when on the springs. Never feel hot and sweaty in it- does a great job at wicking moisture and reflecting the rays

The thread at the end of the sleeve seam & the bottom of shirt seam started fraying or unthreading after 1 wash. And yes!! I followed the washing instructions exactly!

So incredibly comfortable! The quality is amazing and for such a great price!

Great product, fin perfectly and good quality. Tks

This shirt is great. It’s lightweight and loose with sleeves that come barely onto the base of my hands to protect my wrists. The bottom is long enough that it still covers my back when I bend over. I don’t know if the tiny shiny silver dots make a difference, but the shirt helps in the sun. Those dots do make the shirt look rather shimmery from a distance, but that doesn’t bother me because it works. I really notice that I’m not feeling the hot sun on my skin. I didn’t realize how much the sun hitting my skin made me feel hot. Surprisingly, I can feel the breeze blowing through the fabric, which helps dry (and cool) my skin. And when it does get wet it dries quickly. I won’t say I don’t sweat in it, here in the Alabama heat, and I won’t say I’m cool when I wear it, but it’s the very best thing I’ve found to reduce the effect of the sun. BTW, after we wash it we hang it out to dry. We don’t use the dryer. I highly recommend it as one of your tools to beat the sun.

Great sun protection for my husband as he mows our yard. He will use for fishing also. Really like the weight and color of the shirt (light gray). Very comfortable to wear in our hot southern summers
Mel –
Looking forward to using this shirt in warm weather to see if it really does feel cooling
Material does not wrinkle, has a nice feel

Shirt fits as expected from Columbia; Quality is stellar as usual for Columbia.

Purchased three years ago. I now raise the rating from four to five stars. I was concerned with durability at first. Keeping it away from velcro and it is wears just fine. This fabric is exceptionally breathable and makes you feel cooler in strong, hot sun. I wear it mostly for cycling and hiking in summer. I still find the word “Columbia PFG” running down he length of the left sleeve as obnoxious advertisement (they should pay me) and counter productive to the function of the base fabric.
