Karen J –
Was too short to be comfortable with heavier hiking socks.

I like these a lot and am ordering a larger size. Believe the reviews. This type of shoe truly runs a full size smaller.

Read reviews that stated the shoe ran small but I didn’t find that so. Any initial stiffness (usual I find) was gone after two days. For those who state the shoes are short, replace the insert but don’t use gel inserts. Walked across ields of grass heavy with dew and the inside of the shoe remained dry. The outer dried quickly. Had no problems with the shoes’ construction. Would buy them again.

Quality doesn’t seem great, but they are affordable.

The right shoe is defective. A stiff, vertical ridge in the back of the heel caused two very bad blisters. Columbia brand is usually excellent product.

I really like the look & feel of these but I ordered them 1/2 size bigger because of other reviews saying they ran small & they were still too small. I’m ordering another pair a whole size bigger so hopefully they’ll fit.

I love these shoes. I wear them to for work and they are very comfortable and still look new.

I like the look of these and they felt very solid, they just didn’t fit my narrow foot right. There was also something going on with the tongue that had a bunch of extra fabric and it pressed down on the top of my foot – maybe it was the extra to make it waterproof? Either way, these felt like they would give me blisters so back they go. I am always a 9 and the 9s were too small but the 9.5 just a bit too big. Nice shoe for the right foot!

Way too small

I normally wear a size 8 but I read the reviews before ordering
Unfortunately I didn’t believe they could be an entire size too small ?
So I ordered 8 1/2
They were too small .
Returning them was simple
I ordered a 9 this time and they fit just right
Great customer service

I had these on hiking all over Peru- from the amazon jungle to Machu Picchu/Cusco- and they held up great on the different terrains . Superb traction with minimal break-in period. Bought my regular size and it fit like a glove. Very pleased with this purchase.

I ordered one size larger than my normal size 8 . I read previous reviews and they were right! The size 9 fit just right and medium width is fine. Well made and I look forward to some fall weather hiking in these shoes!

I love the Columbia Crestwood Waterproof shoe except I had to return and order larger size. The reviews are correct that report shoe runs small. I usually wear a size 9in street shoes and size 9.5 in my favorite Brooks Ghost 11 shoes so I ordered a size 9.5. I have a narrow foot and wear orthotics so I need plenty of toe box room with heel that I can tighten. The size 9.5 did not give me enough toe box room so I ordered a sizes 10 which works for me. Shoe is a stiff and not heavily cushioned dcompared to my Brooks 11, but I needed a waterproof shoe..

I read the reviews suggesting to order a whole size larger because the fit was small. I ordered a half size larger and it was perfect for me.

This is the second pair of these exact shoes. The first pair I bought from Farm n Fleet. They were the most comfortable shoes I had ever owned. The pair from Zappos are stiff and hard and not at all comfortable. Are your shoes stored in a cold environment that would make the shoes less flexible or make the materials harden? I don’t understand how there is such a big difference with the exact same shoe. ???

The color was great. Alot of room for toes but no support for arch or heel. Returned item.

I like be that these shoes are both waterproof and comfortable. I work in a greenhouse and walk at lest 6 miles a day. These shoes are keeping my feet dry and my feet happy.

These Crestwood’s were hard to find but once reading all the rave reviews I HAD to have them – for all the reasons of the “rave reviews”! It is accurate to say these are durable/waterproof/ lightweight AND comfortable. I find most other brand hikers run size small for me which is true with these as well. My street shoe size is 8.5 so these size 9 fit perfect (including my orthotics)

The reviews were wrong for me about the sizing. I ordered a half size larger based on reviews and a question answered by Zappo’s staff. They were too big, so I returned the size 7 and ordered my normal size, 6.5

I wear these shoes every day at work where I do anywhere from 8,000 to 13,000 steps and am on my feet all day. I work at a garden center so there is a lot of water splashing around and sometimes puddles I have to walk through. These have worked great. I do wear insoles for arch support though so for those of us with really high arches, support is only moderate. The toe box feels wider than usual, even with my insoles.

Bought these to do yard work. Thanks to the reviews I ordered a half size larger. Usually wear a 9 or 9.5 but purchased size 10. I am wearing them with padded cotton socks. If I wanted to wear them with wool hiking socks I would probably need a 10.5. They were a little uncomfortable and stiff at first but have broken in nicely by the second day. Have not really tested the waterproofing. Did use the hose to wash some lawn equipment so shoes got splashed, but not soaked, and socks stayed dry. Have only worn them for about seven hours total but at this moment I am happy with my purchase and would consider buying them again.

Comfortable and Waterproof. Tried others but keep coming back to these. Love them as I live an active lifestyle outdoors. The brown are my fave as they don’t show the dirt.

These are perfect for long or short hikes. Not at all bulky. They stay dry in light rain or mud.

I really wanted to love these shoes as they actually fit me perfectly. I usually take either an 8 or 8.5 in a regular width and the 8.5 fit perfectly. I have sort of flat feet so I can’t wear shoes with what other people consider great arch support and these fit the bill for me as they have a low arch so for some people, they might consider them to not have enough arch support. The insoles are easily removable though so it would be easy to put in insoles with a higher arch if you like. I also really liked the way they look and the color combination. My big issue was that the extra fabric from the gusseted tongue forms what I would call a big “wrinkle” of fabric underneath it running down either side, which is right on top of your foot, on one shoe more than the other, but they both have this same long wrinkle under the tongue. I could immediately feel it on the top of my foot and I KNOW that after a bit of wear, it will become painful to me. I actually returned a previous pair in the hopes that it was defect but unfortunately, this new pair is actually even a bit worse. It doesn’t hurt initially, but the fact that I am instantly aware of it when I tie my shoes (even with loosening the laces) so I know that it become an issue. I did see several other reviews mentioned the same thing. It’s too bad because these shoes were perfect in every other way. I’ve decided against trying other Columbia brand hiking shoes for now as I see they all have this same gusseted tongue design that probably won’t lay flat on the underside (maybe part of the waterproofing) and I think they’re probably all going to have this issue. Oh well, sadly, back they go.

The perfect shoe. It’s comfortable right out of the box. There is enough room to remove the removable sole for my left foot and put in a support sole (which I need only for the left shoe) the manufacturers sole for the right foot is perfect. The defect is my foot, not the shoe!!! There is good heel stability. I have a fused ankle which can make putting a shoe on very difficult, but with the lacing, I can open the shoe enough to slip my fused foot right in. Thank you for this terrific shoe.
