Loved the look of these sandals!.. That is, until you try to fit the front straps over your toes. Like another review stated, the straps that go over the foot are not adjustable. I don’t have wide feet, and the straps were very tight. The ankle strap fit fine, though.

The color and style of these sandals is so nice- really was looking forward to wearing them. They are so oddly uncomfortable though! The sole is super stiff- like unnecessarily so. Felt like I was walking with a board strapped to my feet. I have quite a few Teva’s in this same general style, and they are far superior in comfort and wearability. I’ll stick to those.

Beautiful colors and quality, however, the toe strap is extremely narrow and unadjustable. Even for individuals with normal/narrow feet.

I am a true 7.5 on the narrow side. I opted to go with a 7, and that was definitely the right choice. An 8 would have been too long and too big. The strap around the heel and ankle (with velcro) doesn’t feel like the best quality so not sure how long these sandals will last. My biggest complaint, however, is that the strap across the toe is not adjustable, leaving my foot feeling like it’s swimming in the front. Had Columbia made the strap across the toe adjustable, it would have made for a nice, snug fit. The overall look of the shoe is adorable though. The color is fabulous, summery, and feminine. I would say they’re not as high quality as TEVA or Chaco, but they’re cuter, and more suitable if you’re looking for a more narrow sandal than what Teva/Chaco offers.

I purchased the Alava sandals in size 11 and they were absolutely huge. Exchanged for a 10.5 and they were still way too big, not to mention super uncomfortable. The toe straps are awkward and not adjustable, and the fit was just weird. I felt like these sandals would fall off at any minute. Walking in them was like having boards strapped to my feet – not a good experience. Returning.
